Plano, Texas Senior Portraits at Oak Point Park : Catherine & Julia

When I was in high school, I opted out of photographing senior portraits. Regrettably, I've always wondered how I looked back then. My yearbook photo wasn't so great either lol! If I could do it - I would do it the way Julia & Catherine did. Having Julia reach out to me months back, she and her best friend decided to take their session and mix it up their way. Creating their own flower crowns, these two beautiful high school seniors scraped the cap & gown senior routine and allowed me to direct the session however I wanted. We shot in the beautiful Oak Point Park in Plano, Texas where there's a numerous amounts of space to shoot photos. With sunset approaching, I adored watching these flower girls laugh and support each other throughout the late afternoon.

At some point in the session, the girls changed into their own individual outfits and we took good smiling photos - you know the ones your parents want lol! These girls looked so cute in their outfits and even exchanged accessories to make sure that the other was pretty for each shot. They looked like they stepped out of a Forever XXI Catalog!

As the sun started to leave, I decided to switch the overall mood. Julia and Catherine were SO sweet to take my every pose I gave them with grace and patience. Instead of the light, airy, and innocent way we shot with the flower crowns, I wanted to portray the angsty teenage vibe that we all experience. It's a little darker, a little edgier, and much more editorial. I loved editing these in post and found that it was so much fun to show two ways to photograph these types of portraits.

Congrats to these girls for slaying their photo session AND completing their high school career! These two will be attending college soon and they will become such amazing women in the future. I just know it!
