Frisco Coffee Shops - A Fresh Cup
I’m back with fresh update on Coffee shops in Dallas - specifically in the Frisco area. Again, the need of coffee shops up north of George Bush Turnpike has been more apparent as many major companies have relocated their HQs to the eager North Dallas communities. With the insane rise of people moving north, it’s no surprise that coffee shops have become in demand to support the growth. And like always, I’m prone to cabin fever being a freelancer working from home so this is for my notes and for you readers as well. Not to mention, the new school season is upon us and I figured some students could use some tips to a good study sesh space.
I’m going to be pretty straightforward about the coffee shops putting a succinct two cents about each one. Here’s my suggested points of interest for any coffee shop patron to consider:
GOOD LIGHTING & DECOR - I SERIOUSLY HATED THE IDEA OF WALKING INTO WORK SPENDING 8 HOURS LITERALLY IN A CORPORATE CAVE. THE ROOM WAS COLD AND DARK AND NOT IN THE LEAST INVITING. I ACTUALLY HAD VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY DUE TO IT AND NOW I EAGERLY SEEK PLACES WHERE THERE’S PLENTY OF NATURAL LIGHT STREAMING THROUGH THE WINDOWS. NOT TO MENTION, THE NATURAL LIGHT HELPS FOR A GOOD INSTAGRAM POST.
GREAT WIFI - I HAVE SPENT MANY HOURS LOOKING FOR A PLACE I CAN EXPORT IMAGES ESPECIALLY HIGH RES ONES AND ALTHOUGH I HAVE DECENT SPEED AT HOME, SOMETIMES, THE INTERNET STOPS WORKING AND YOU GOT A DEADLINE SO IT’S GREAT TO HAVE A GO-TO BACKUP TO RUN TO.
AMPLE SEATING & ELECTRICAL OUTLETS - THE SECRET TO A SUCCESSFUL WORK DAY AT A COFFEE SHOP IS BEING ABLE TO HAVE A GREAT SEAT NEXT TO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET. THERE ARE PLACES LIKE COMMON DESK OR WEWORK WHERE YOU CAN GO TO GET YOUR PRE-PAID OFFICE SPACE WITH TOPO CHICO INCLUDED; BUT IF YOU’RE LIKE ME WHO CAN’T JUSTIFY THAT KIND OF SPENDING, YOU GO TO A COFFEE SHOP WHERE THERE IS DECENT COMFY SEAT WITH AN OUTLET RIGHT NEXT TO IT SO YOU CAN CHARGE A LAPTOP OR A PHONE.

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Fair amount of seating, limited outlets, and parking only available in the garages. There are many locations for Ascension throughout DFW, this particular one is located in the Star.

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: it’s no doubt that this one is strategically located by a church because there are shelves of Books sold inside catered to Christian based religious beliefs - located off Ohio Drive with plenty of seating inside and outside - there’s even a cute little nook just for kids

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: located close to Lake Lewisville with Limited seating and very small tables but their donuts are delicious and fun. i only put it on this list because west frisco desperately needs a coffee shop that isn’t starbucks

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Located close to Sam Rayburn Tollway and Very limited seating. It’s been awhile since I’ve visited this one but it’s a classic and one of the OGs of the Frisco coffee scene
WIFI: Yes, No password needed
WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: BRAND NEW and located next to an apartment complex. Very limited outlets but tons of seating inside. Bonus: Dog friendly patio! Trending interior is great for a blogger or social media influencer looking a new backdrop.

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Located along Dallas North Tollway and across from Frisco High School next to Tastea on Stonebrook
WIFI: Yes
WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Small space and limited seating, very close to Rick Reedy High School but they have bagels! Their love for local art is shown on the walls and I think they are more environment conscious than others on this list - There’s only 3 outlets so first come first serve
WIFI: Yes - you need to purchase something to receive password
WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Next to the Frisco Public Library with amazing internet speeds, plenty of outlets and seating - the ratio is practically 2:1 and one of my personal favorites that i go to often.
WIFI: Yes
WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Close to the Stonebriar Mall located below apartment buildings and plenty of space to sit - grab a seat near the back wall where the outlets are

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: It’s great for the Frisco residents on the edge of McKinney and located in the neighborhood literally called the Grove. Very comfy seating available - I consider this more of meet up space than a great work space and definitely one for photos

WORKSPACE NEED TO KNOW: Incredibly limited seating, always busy, limited outlets, and located in Downtown Frisco (one of my least favorite places to work - but great for coffee dates with a friend)
