Houston Wedding at Grace Bible Church: Megan + Michael

It's been years since I've taken a trip down to Houston and it's all thanks to my February wedding couple. Dental Hygienist Megan and Architect Michael and I met over coffee in Addison awhile back. I was introduced to them by a childhood friend of mine who was one of Megan's bridesmaids. Meeting them both I knew I was going to like them right away. They both have such an easy going demeanor and were so open to any suggestions. Despite their humble personalities, their wedding was nothing short of extraordinary. They had a ton of loved ones who attended and were always thinking about others even though it was their special day. What was really important to share was that they also wanted to keep their focus on God the whole day. Listening to the maid of honor's speech that night, I learned that the two love birds met through a Young Life camp back in 2009. They've been together ever since! It's incredible that they've been dating for so long!

A short drive away, the wedding moved to the Junior League of Houston for the nigh festivities. The walls were beautiful! Ornate wallpaper in the bathrooms and crystal chandeliers all over the place!

I love when couples think of the details. M&M candies for the couples first initial letters personalized with their wedding date and their photo! The grooms cake cutting was definitely an entertaining moment. Megan, an A&M alumni decided to saw off the horns from Michael's, a UT alumni, longhorn grooms cake. Michael's face is PRICELESS! lol! And the collegiate rivalry showdown didn't stop there!

By far my favorite part of the night had to be the dancing. [ WARNING ] Dance photo spam! There was so much that happened that I couldn't resist sharing a lot of photos. Everything from giant group selfies, groomsmen pretending to be DJs (and the DJ totally going along with it), and lastly the biggest rivalry between UT and OU. The UT Fight song was played and a swarm of UT students started singing . Megan was clearly not happy.

But then the A&M Fight Song started to play...

When the evening reception came to an end,  the couple was showered by tons of lavender buds and whisked away in a shiny red car driven by Michael's older sister. What a way to end the night! Congratulations to the Maddoxs! I had such a blast working this wedding! It was all so much fun and the couple looked amazing! Thank you Megan and Michael for all your patience and what an honor to be your photographer on such a special day!
