PEOPLE // Marilyn

Hand in hand with her Parisian boyfriend, whom she calls "Frenchy", Marilyn greets me with the brightest smile ever. It's a slightly chilly morning but this TWU Summa Cum Laude classmate of mine is ready to bring it. We meet up at Murray Street Coffee to take pictures around the Deep Ellum area. With goals to venture her music further, Marilyn asked me to take photos to prepare for the new year. I agreed right away. I've never seen Marilyn perform live but I've watched her do several covers on Facebook. She turns into someone completely different when she's playing guitar in front of you. She has a very simplistic style, soft voice, and really relaxed disposition. Altogether, I can image her doing a great acoustic set on stage. My favorite image is the first one below. As she sang and played a small tune, the morning sun was starting its daily rise as a nippy breeze came brushing through her hair. She looks a little like Feist with a little bit of French flair - I love it. ( I think its the bangs. )

She is always laughing and smiling. I blame her very funny and charming boyfriend Julien for distracting her during the session.
