Thrifted Threads

Since the start of 2013, I haven't purchased anything for myself in any stores except thrift stores. From some family and friends, I have learned that great treasures lie within the stores of Goodwill or any random local thrift store. I am trying to spend less on myself and if I do get something, I don't want to spend a lot. I give myself a $20 limit when I thrift and I usually leave with something in my hand and much change to spare. I wanted to photograph myself wearing one of my favorite dresses that I picked up in February. It is a MAX AZRIA Striped Dress. The best part has to be the pockets! Although the sizing is a little bit big, I think the dress sat well on me. The only problem with the dress was the opening at the neck where it is much larger than my little bust can handle. I had to be very self aware not to flash anyone if I bent over. I also discovered that it is easily susceptible to wrinkling so I think I'll try to be more wary of that when I wear it again. This dress cost me $10. I got a chance to sport it at the Cindy Sherman Exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Art where the weather was just begging me to wear a little fun frock. I had fun wearing it and if anything - I am more encouraged to search harder at the thrift stores. =) I encourage everyone to go and give thrifting a chance.
